Fear

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom...
To me the wisdom is knowing you could die any time and know you might be lost in hell for ever.  Knowing you are not really born again because you are more a friend of the world.  Doing as the world does...TV watching, camping, working, taking care of the house, vacations, computer work, and everything the flesh does.  All distractions from Satan to keep us from reading your Bible, praying, studying Gods Word.  I see myself not being a doer of the Word.  My daily agenda isn't walking with God and doing his will.  It is doing my agenda and my will.  This fears me!  Knowing I could die any second and standing in judgement.  I believe it is better to fear the Lord as we live and breath than to fear the Lord when our soul stands at the judgment.

So ask your self a question and be honest.  Do you really fear the LORD?  Put yourself in someone else's shoes looking back at you.  Does he or she the fear of the LORD in you?

Fear of the Lord

1 Samuel 11:7. And he took a yoke of oxen, and hewed them in pieces, and sent them throughout all the coasts of Israel by the hands of messengers, saying, Whosoever cometh not forth after Saul and after Samuel, so shall it be done unto his oxen. And the fear of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out with one consent.

2 Chronicles 14:14. And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the Lord came upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.10. 17:10 And the fear of the Lord fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat. 19:7 Wherefore now let the fear of the Lord be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

Job 28:28. And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Psalms 19:9. The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 34:7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him. 10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. 11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good? 13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. 14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. 15 The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry. 16 The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
111:10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Proverbs 1:7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. 29. For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:
2:5. Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
8:13. The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
9:10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
10:27. The fear of the Lord prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
14:26. In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge. 27. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
15:16. Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith. 33. The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
16:6. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.
19:23. The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
22:4. By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, and honour, and life.
23:17. Let not thine heart envy sinners: but be thou in the fear of the Lord all the day long.

Isaiah 2:10. Enter into the rock, and hide thee in the dust, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty. 19. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. 21. To go into the clefts of the rocks, and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.
11:2. And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; 3. And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
33:6. And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.

Luke 1:11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.13 But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
1:28 And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.29 And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be.30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.
1:50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

Acts 9:31. Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.
